Benin Joins the 50-in-5 Campaign

Cotonou, Benin, May 28th, 2026

50-in-5 is proud to welcome the Government of Benin, represented by the Agence des Systèmes d’Information et du Numérique (ASIN), to the campaign. This milestone reflects Benin’s strong commitment to making public services more accessible, efficient, and transparent for all citizens.

As part of its digital transformation journey, Benin has made significant progress in developing key digital public infrastructure building blocks, including a biometric digital identity programme, interoperable payment systems, and a national digital services portal. These initiatives are helping to simplify interactions between citizens, businesses, and government institutions.

“Transforming the daily lives of Beninese citizens through digital begins with one principle: simplification. That is the very purpose of the digital public infrastructure we are building, and of our commitment to the 50-in-5 Campaign”, said Marc-André Loko, Director General of ASIN.

Benin recognises the important role that DPI can play in strengthening service delivery across sectors such as healthcare, agriculture, education, and social protection. By investing in secure, interoperable, and inclusive digital systems, the country aims to ensure that the benefits of digital transformation reach all citizens.

By becoming the 35th country to join the 50-in-5 campaign and the 16th in Africa, Benin will engage in peer learning and collaboration with other member countries, sharing its experience in building inclusive and interoperable DPI while also drawing on global best practices to further strengthen its digital transformation journey.
