Indonesia Joins the 50-in-5 Campaign

Jakarta, Indonesia, May 26, 2026
50-in-5 is proud to welcome the Government of Indonesia, represented by the The Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform, to the campaign. This milestone reflects Indonesia’s strong commitment to ensuring that digital transformation creates meaningful impact for citizens’ everyday lives.
As the world’s largest archipelagic nation with more than 280 million people, Indonesia’s participation in 50-in-5 reflects how DPI has an important foundation for reducing service gaps, strengthening connectivity across regions, and delivering more accessible, integrated, and responsive public services for citizens.
“Because people do not experience government through technical terminology. People experience government through moments. The moment public services become easier during difficult times. The moment an elderly citizen no longer feels exhausted navigating bureaucracy. The moment a mother in a rural village no longer needs to spend her daily income simply to process administrative documents for her family. For Indonesia, digital public infrastructure is not merely about connecting systems. It is about ensuring that government becomes more humane, more responsive, and more present in people’s lives.” said Rini Widyantini, First Vice Chair of the Committee for the Acceleration of Government Digital Transformation (Komite Percepatan Transformasi Digital Pemerintah/KPTDP) and Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform of the Republic of Indonesia.
Indonesia’s DPI ecosystem currently includes national digital identity initiatives through Citizen Digital Identity (Identitas Kependudukan Digital/IKD), secure interoperability platforms through Data and Digital Services Exchange System (Sistem Penghubung Data dan Layanan Digital Pemerintah/SPDLDP) and One Data Policy (Satu Data Indonesia/SDI), interoperable digital payments through QRIS, BI-FAST, and GPN, as well as citizen-centered service integration through INAku as service “front door”.
As part of its growing commitment to the global DPI ecosystem, Indonesia is also preparing to host the Global DPI Summit 2027 in Bali, which is expected to become an important platform for international collaboration and practical knowledge exchange on inclusive and trusted Digital Public Infrastructure.
By becoming the 36th country to join the 50-in-5 campaign, Indonesia will engage in peer learning and collaboration with other member countries, sharing its experience in building inclusive and interoperable DPI while also drawing on global best practices to further strengthen its digital transformation journey.
