Uganda joins the 50-in-5 campaign

Uganda Joins the 50-in-5 Campaign!

Uganda, May 28, 2025 — 50-in-5 is proud to welcome the Government of Uganda to the campaign, through the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance. By joining, Uganda highlights its progress in leveraging the national data exchange platform, UG-Hub, to implement its flagship poverty eradication initiative — the Parish Development Model. This program is transforming lives by enabling equitable access to investment funds and has already onboarded 135 entities, including 62 public institutions and 73 private organisations. As a member of the Digital Public Goods Alliance, the country is also advancing its digital ID systems by implementing MOSIP (Modular Open Source Identity Platform).

“We look forward to working with global partners to advance our DPI journey and ensure that every citizen benefits from inclusive, secure, and accessible digital systems,” said Dr. Aminah Zawedde, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of ICT and National Guidance.

By becoming the 25th country to join the 50-in-5 campaign, Uganda will participate in learning exchanges where countries can benefit from Uganda’s experiences in advancing safe, inclusive, and interoperable DPI — while Uganda also gains insights from the best practices of others.
